 Benzarone is a thrombolytic drug used as a vasoprotective agent.Initially used for the treatment of gout and now used in antivaricose therapy. Benzarone has been recently shown to be an inhibitor of Uric Acid Transporter 1 (hURAT1) and human fatty acid binding protein 4.
