REVIEW Dichlorophen is a nontoxic laxative vermicide effective against taenia tapeworm infestation. It tends to produce colic and nausea. Dichlorophen is also used as a veterinary fungicide, anthelmintic, and antiprotozoan. The mode of action of dicholorphen is similar to salicylanilides, involving the uncoupling of oxidative phosphorylation.
