REVIEW
 Clinofibrate is a fibrate drug that inhibits hydroxymethylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase (HMGCR) with an IC50 of 0.47 mM. It is a plasma lipid-lowering agent used for controlling high cholesterol and tricylglyceride levels in the blood. It modifies lipid metabolism, diminishing the steroid-induced accumulation of lipids within osteocytes. It also can effectively reduce the plasma fibrinogen level.
