REVIEW
 Flavomycin (Bambermycin) is a complex of antibiotics obtained from Streptomyces bambergiensis. The complex consists mainly of moenomycins A and C. Flavomycin is effective against Gram-positive bacteria, but it does not have significant action against Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, and other protective bacteria. Its mechanism of action involves inhibition of bacterial wall synthesis, in particular, the Transglycosylation step in Peptidoglycan Biosynthesis. Flavomycin is used as a feed supplement for broilers, laying hens, turkey hens, ducks, pheasants, pigs, calves, and fattening steers.
