REVIEW

Tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride is a sympathomimetic amine clinically used as a nasal and ophthalmic decongestant. The drug directly stimulates alpha-adrenergic receptors while exerting minimal to no effect on beta-adrenergic receptors. In the nasal mucosa it exerts its effect by vasoconstricting smaller arterioles after intranasal administration .
